I agree - when it's sink or swim in life, it seems the obvious answer is to wade and wait to be forced or (worse yet) we're just left to sit their with a death grip on what could be.

For me, this post couldn't have come at a better time. For me, my dreams are to lead/take part in worship at a large church filled with the spirit of God. I've let a lot of people hold me back from moving on what God is telling me to do. I dream of singing songs I've written to a crowd of thousands and hearing and seeing them praise the Lord, be healed, and learn who they are in Christ.

I went to a conference this week that really helped me regain control of that dream. Thanks for this post, it just reinforces all of that!Ivyhttp://www.unscriptedlife.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193894046294651875.post-13844988764878290902010-10-08T07:27:44.677-07:002010-10-08T07:27:44.677-07:00My son's experience was about the same as your...My son's experience was about the same as yours. It took five more years before he'd even get his face wet in the shower. Eventually, he came to love it on his own terms, though.

This is a great post because it's exactly where I feel I am. This summer I took the dive to apply to get into an MFA program. Am I too old? Not smart enough? I honestly didn't even think I'd get in, so I didn't consider all the details. When I'd bring up problems and conflicts my husband would say, "Just apply, and when you get in we'll figure it out."

So I feel like I jumped off the side and now I have to figure out how to swim. Scary, but very cool!Heidi Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18420802651029097379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193894046294651875.post-25143982890966946922010-10-07T19:06:38.399-07:002010-10-07T19:06:38.399-07:00Oooh I would have trouble with someone threatening...Oooh I would have trouble with someone threatening and throwing my kid in. Wee 'Burb had an easy initiation, but largely because she was only 6 months and it was just one big tubby to her :)StephanieinSuburbiahttp://stephanieinsuburbia.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193894046294651875.post-91343101240539963902010-10-07T10:06:28.430-07:002010-10-07T10:06:28.430-07:00My son was the same way.
