I wondered at first if she could really miss what she never really knew. If you didn't know sight and sound, could you miss it with anything more than a vague sense of loss?
Still, the obstacles she overcame, knowing they were there solely for her, must have been overwhelming.
I love sudden flashes of perspective. Makes me so grateful!
