Quote of the Week

(I liked this quote because it can apply to parenting or writing!)

"We are all apprentices in a craft
where no one ever becomes a master."

This is one of my favorite Hemingway quotes. I find it very freeing to be able to accept that writing is more about the journey than the destination. I strive each day to be better, but find peace in realizing that perfection is safely out of my reach.

Great quote! We can strive to be a master, but no way will we ever get there. Takes a little pressure off, doesn't it?

I was thinking this very thing today. Being a writer means you will always be a student. Really, it's one of the things that makes a life of writing so interesting.
